AC Milan 3 - 0 Sampdoria
AC Milan continued their recovery from a rocky start to the season with victory over Sampdoria on Sunday, but it was not always as straight forward as the final score suggests. Although missing several players through injury and suspension, Sampdoria put up a good fight until Stefano Lucchini handled Ronaldinho's shot inside the area to earn a second yellow card in the 54th minute. Ronaldinho scored the resulting penalty, then added a second in the 66th minute before Filippo Inzaghi capped the victory in the final minute.
Inter Milan 4 - 0 Roma
Internazionale stormed to the top of Serie A, playing arguably their best football this season to demolish Roma 4-0. Goals early in both halves from Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it an uphill struggle for last season's league runners-up while two goals in as many second-half minutes from Dejan Stankovic and Victor Obinna put the defending champions back on top of the pile. Maicon also hit the post as the Nerazzurri ran riot against a Roma side who lacked the same incisiveness in front of goal as their opponents and, with four defeats in seven matches, they continued their disappointing start to the season, falling nine points behind Inter. Inter coach Jose Mourinho sprang a surprise in his team selection with Obinna making his first start of the season in attack with Adriano, Mario Balotelli and former Roma forward Mancini all left on the bench.
