England's manager, Fabio Capello has banned “WAG - Wife And Girlfriends" from future England games. Capello's ban means partners will have to stay away from the team when they on England's duty. Capello's WAG ban echoes comments by Sunderland manager Roy Keane last year that some players are allowing their partners to control their careers. Complaining he had trouble luring big players to Sunderland because of lack of good shops, Keane said:
"If they don't want to come because their wife wants to go shopping in London, it's a sad state of affairs... To me, that player is weak because his wife runs his life.Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has described the WAG culture that surrounded England in the days before Fabio Capello took charge as a “circus” and admitted that it was central to the squad’s recent failures. Ferdinand, of the 2006 World Cup, said:
"If I'm honest, we became a bit of a circus in terms of the whole Wag situation ... It was like watching a theatre unfolding and football almost became a secondary element to the main event."Is that the reasons? I think you have the answers :-).
