Dimitar Berbatov looks set to sit out Manchester United's clash with Aston Villa on Saturday. The striker picked up a thigh injury on international duty for Bulgaria in Wednesday's 6-1 defeat by Serbia.
Berbatov was substituted after just half-an-hour due to the injury and was immediately rated doubtful for the weekend trip to Villa Park. But, according to the player's agent Emil Danchev, the champions will now be forced to take on Villa without Berbatov.
Danchev told Bulgarian Darik radio: "According to Manchester United's medical staff, Berbatov will be recovering between seven and 10 days."Such a timescale would also rule Berbatov out of next week's UEFA Champions League trip to Villarreal and leave him racing to be fit for the Manchester derby on 30th November. With Wayne Rooney having been laid low by illness, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could be short of attacking options for Saturday's game against Villa.
